This little 10 year old was desperate to rock out at her own music party, but also loved the idea of a little girls spa party – so we decided to combine the two into this gorgeous Princess Pop Party.
To create the pop look, these neon tutus were an absolute winner. Each one labelled with the guests’ name (to avoid any fallouts over colour choice!). The fun part was finding out which colour was theirs!! A brilliant start to the party – instant colour everywhere!
The other request for the party was a makeup area – each little pop princess has to prepare herself, so my husbands office was rapidly redesigned into a nail and makeup parlour! This was the first stop once they had found their tutus. A wide selection of makeup, nail varnish and temporary tattoos were on offer and we let the girls loose on it all! Many helped each other get ready, proving to be a great icebreaker before the music started.
Drinks and snacks on arrival came in the form of Champagne (OK, apple juice in champagne flutes!) and mini doughnuts. They certainly felt very special when offered a glass of this – well they are big girls now!
The girls loved their inflatable microphone, each one singing their heart out as the karaoke machine was turned on. Some also had inflatable guitars too, for the rockers in the group!
The party tea took on a rather pink theme, as pink Cadillac food trays were the choice of the day. Actually, I love food trays – takes the effort out of preparing huge platters. You can have the food trays prefilled before the guests arrive at the table, so the children can jump straight in. (You can usually find my amazing mother calming prepping these – couldn’t do these parties without her). An extra pair of hands in the kitchen is a joy!
After the party tea, and some more singing, the Ice Cream Parlour was open for business. This was such a winner. The girls loved building their own ice-cream Sundays, with a choice of ice-creams, sauces and toppings. You can now find Ice Cream Parlours at most of my parties as they work for all age groups and are just so simple to organise.
The birthday cake was a super simple one. A large chocolate sponge with buttercream, surrounded by a wall of KitKats, and secured with a pink ribbon. A simple pretty cake decoration brought the cake to life and most importantly brought the biggest smile to my 10 year old Princess!
And every party goer needs a party bag. Again, a simple pink paper bag filled with cake, a nail varnish, pink hairbrush and a bright pink t-shirt for each. And there we are….another party complete. Was all the effort worth it – ABSOLUTELY YES! Another wonderful memory for my daughter has been created.
