Born to SK8 Party

A skateboard party first for Popcorn and Party, but we just loved this theme! We were asked to create this event for a super cool 12 year old girl, who just adores her skateboard.

To set the vibe for this party, we found a fantastic multicoloured brick backdrop on Amazon. It gave an urban feel, but surrounded by her favourite pastel coloured balloons, still manages to look pretty! A personalised Lily banner made it clear who this party was for.

The girls enjoyed cupcakes, lollipops and plenty of popcorn. The cupcakes were topped with striking skater toppers. The lollipops were made by the brilliant @sugarpoplollipops, who create bespoke designs. The brief for these lollipops was to incorporate the birthday girl's favourite colours, pastel pink and sky blue, plus the addition of a skateboard! They were just perfect. And every party has to have popcorn - the buckets were personalised with "Eat Popcorn, Skate, Repeat" and they definitely managed each of these. The cake, made by her grandmother (who brilliantly makes it every year), was topped off with a skater cake topper, made by the super clever @meraki.byrebecca.

The skateboard had to feature somewhere on the party table - it ended up being the perfect surface for the little bottles of lemon juice, topped off with personalised stickers and cute little paper straws.

The skater girl had to stand out at her own party, so @meraki.byrebecca created a stunning Skater Girl t-shirt in the party colours, using her favourite pink for the skateboard. The party girls also had jars of glow sticks, perfect to play with after hours while camping together outside. (By morning, they had connected all glow sticks and used it as one huge skipping rope!!).

To finish the party, a gift bag was a must for every guest. These cute themed party bags included skateboard keyrings, a "girls just want to have fun" badge, a sweet friendship bracelet, plus the must have sweets.

The girls had a fantastic time and we just can't wait to organise their next event. It's was so cool to work with, we now all want skateboards ourselves!!
